Have a question? Anyone else had a pannilectomy in here? I know someone has had to have one, what a dumb question, huh? LOL! The fact is I am scared! I do not do well with pain and have lost 130 pounds since my WLS of 7/18/2005. I have gained back about 15 pounds since, but they say this is normal. I have been holding my weight steady since. To complicate things, I had a needle biopsy of a lung b4 my weightloss surgery in January 2005 because they found a nodule in right lower lobe of lung. Now, with new chest X-ray it has supposedly grown from 2.1 cm to 2.4 cm. I am only 44. What is it with 40 years old,do we just fall apart? LOL! They want me to see a chest doctor b/c of this. My primary care doctor has called it a granuloma and says there is really nothing to worry about, but the fact is I am scared to death! Yes, I do smoke, and yes know all the dangers of smoking. I asked my doctor if it could be due to the fact that I have lost so much weight, and that it may just look bigger because essentially I have lost a whole person after my WLS, LOL! Anyone been through this? A Granuloma is essentially scar tissue in the lung according to my family doctor. But I had Scarlet Fever as a child also. Never have had this show up on X-ray until 3 years ago. Please someone, if you have had a Panillectomy done, please get back to me. The doctor has set the surgery room up for 3 hours but said he may not need this long. Said that he was going to try and preserve the belly button as much as possible. I hope so, b/c that proves that I was born and not hatched under a rock, LOL! Also said that he would do something with extra on my hips so that it would look more streamlined. Says that I have at least 20 pounds of extra skin hanging on my belly. EWE!!!! I would fit in my pants better and stave off the yeast infections that I am prone too also. Those stink, pee yew! Please someone get back with me on this. Also said that I would come out with 4 drains and a compression garment. Thanks for all your help!

Have not been there but hope to be someday. Good for you doing this. Hugs and prayers.

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."
