I have been given a list of recommended reading and was wondering if any have read these books?  Are they good?  Would you recommend them? or are they maybe not worth the money?  I have done alot of research and while I in NO way know all there is to know... when I went to the dietician and phyc Dr.... I did not learn very much at all that I did not already know... and am sure willing to buy the books but don't want to waste my $$$ either on material that I've already covered many many times....  1.  Mindless Eating $8 2.  The Emotional First Aid Kit  $17 on Amazon 3.  Eating Well  $8 4.  WLS for Dummies (some one already said this one might be good)      $14.50 5. Exodus From Obesity $20 on Amazon Am going to check with our local library again but last time I looked there was just not much information to be had.... Any imput on these books would be greatly appreciated, of if you know of other good ones please tell me. Thanks for your time... ~bec

Thanks for your reply.... I ALWAYS want to talk to you sweet pea! The book Exodus From Obesity sounds interesting to me... even though I am not there yet... the title sounds like it might cover some of the things that has been discussed recently as topics of interest.  From what I read so many do not really expect what happens to them both mentally and physically.  It think I will purchase that one for sure and I guess I will have to get the Emotional Eating one too... it is "highly" recommended by the bariatric team at Shawnee Mission...other than that will wait and see what others have to say about the rest of the books... or maybe next time I am near a big books store I can see if any of them are available to thumb thru... bec

I had surgery 6 weeks ago and cant imagine going thru everything without the WLS for Dummies book.  I still use it.  It was the best book I bought.  I also read the book before and after I didnt care for the book at all, but everyone is different.  Good Luck

Ramos, Thanks for responding.. is the book you didn't like: "Exodus from Obesity"?  Maybe I shoud wait and see if I can find one to thumb through first.  The books are just so expensive not to get good from them. I appreciate your input. Thanks, bec
