carbs
Hi all, I was looking all over in my white bible.... err....binder lol but couldn't find the answer anywhere, I seem to remember reading that we are to get 60-90 grams of protein each day and keep it to under 100 grams of carbs? is this right?! 100 seems like ALOT anyhow I can't remember for sure and can't find it, I am able to find the protein bit , so that's right , so just the carbs. I think I have done really well with the sugars, no cheating and I won't eat anything unless it's sugar free, but the carbs just seem to go down so much easier than the meats. I really need some ideas on eating healthy, it seems like all the "good" foods that I love are so much harder to process, I haven't had any instances of "dumping" so either i'm not doing to bad, or maybe i'm immune to it? I hope it's the former lol. I bake alot of boneless skinless chicken breasts and sometimes it goes down easy and stays there, and sometimes it feels like I ate rocks????

At the lst support meeting, Dr.H stated between 60 and 100 carbs aday. Dumping is from sugar consumption and if you are being good. You shouldn't have any problem. I don't know how far out you are so, don't know what to tell you about healthy eating except The chicken may be tougher sometimes or maybe you haven't cooked it long enough to be tender enough. Sometimes, if you have eaten just one bite too much it will feel heavy like rocks, maybe that is your problem.

All I can remember is they told us to keep the carbs to bare minimum and if we eat any it should be good carbs like 100% whole grain (not whole wheat) bread. Or carbs you get from fruits and veggies....they told us to that if something has 10 grams of protien and it has more than 5 grams of carbs to steer clear of it because the carbs cancel out the protien after that point.....All I know is Carbs can quickly become your enemy and will put a halt to weight loss...be careful!
