~Great News for our Bootheel Support Group~

I was in Poplar Bluff Friday night and met a friend at Sullivans Cafe for coffee...Sullivans is where we have been having our meetings at. She knows the owner and she happen to be in so Toni ask her to come over and she introduced us.... I told her we had been meeting there for several months. And that at the moment we only had 3 in the group but we were expecting 3 new ones this month. I explained that to get the news out that there was a support group in the SE area I wanted to put out flyers and maybe advertise in the local news papers. But I didn't want to do it until I ask her if I could advertise her Cafe by putting the name on the flyers. She sat down to talk to me about it and I found out that she just had the Lap Band done mid Nov!!! And she is familar with WLS. She said she dosen't attend support meetings cause she had hers done in Jonesborrow Ark and she wont drive that far to do it. We talked more about our group meeting there and I told her that if it picks up and we get a few more I would have to look for a bigger place due to privacy and etc...She said follow me....I didn't know it but they have a private dinning room!!!!!!! She said it will seat at least 60 and it's all yours! You call a few days in advance each month and I will make sure you have a waitress back there and all I ask is yall make sure and tip her. I was just tickled to death lol lol.....I had been wondering how I was going to come up with a bigger place when we needed it and then it just happened!!! And to top it off she said she knows several people that had it done and that might want to attend the support meetings. They had theirs down in Ark like she did and don't drive back down that way. She told me she would make sure and put the word out to all the people she knows and that I was more than welcome to put out flyers and put ads in the paper. I told her that I had thought about calling KFVS..(our local news channel) and talking to them about our group...They do medical segments on different things and I thought they might be interested in doing one on WLS and it would also get us even more advertisement. She said call em up and tell em come on down....She said let me know ahead of time and I will spruce the place up a bit and make sure things look nice and that yall are all set up good for a good interview with them..... WOOOOO HOOOOOO....Wouldn't that be awsome!!!!! I will post to remind those in the area of the meeting a bit later. It's not till the 10th....But I just had to post about us now cause I was so excited about getting a place for a meeting.. For now we will probably keep meeting out front a little longer. I thought it would be respectful to wait till we get a few more members since she will be providing us with our own waitress when we do get back there...If I do get there on meeting nights and it happens to be busy or seatings not good at least we know we can go back there.
