Women Only Problem - Please advise

Have a question.  I have not had a period since March.  No, I should not be pregnant.  David had a vasectomy TWICE and I had my tubes tied and burnt when Jake was born.  Have any of you had this problem after wls?

I had my wls 3/5/07 and my periods were a little heavier and longer than normal right after the surgery.  However, they did straighten out and had been regular and not as heavy the last 6 months.  I’m thinking I need to go see my gyn.  He will probably want to put me on birth control pills as a hormone therapy.  Speaking of which, I do feel like my emotions are running out of control a lot of the times.  I started my period when I was 9 years old.  I thought since I started so young I would go thru menopause at a young age as well (I’m 45).  My GYN informed me, a few years ago, that studies show that women who start their periods at a young age actually go thru menopause LATER than other women do.  What’s up with that!?  Just would like to know what you all have experienced as far as periods and hormones go after wls.

Thanks for any advice you can give me.  As always, it is greatly appreciated!

Debbie not I but i have read that women in your age bracket store hormones in the fat pockets of their body and hormones go out of control as they lose the fat and realease the hormons.  I would think you are way to young to be going thru Menopause no matter when you started.  Most women dont go thru that until after 50...but there are always exceptions.   I would think you need to go see you gyn and get a really good checkup. Just my ideas but you really shouldnt put off anything that might be related to your health. OK???

Hey Debbie, I have been having heavy periods too and they put me on birth control said it would help but so far it hasn't really.  It really bites I hate the long heavy periods.

UGGGHHH!  Mine have been terrible too.  It gives me hope to hear they might even out.  Good grief...he was only supposed to mess with the bowel!  If you find anything out I will be anxious to hear.  Sounds like we all have a common thread going here.  I have no doubt it is hormone related since fat and hormones are directly related....
