The Day Before

Where do I start? Well I guess the 2 day liquid diet. According to Dr Hoehn I have to be on a two day liquid diet... well I have accomplished that so for except for yesterday we celebrated my sons 4th birthday. Hmm a little cake and ice cream wont hurt.... (of course I asked Dr Hoehn on Monday about having a little and he told me sure) Well thats what I had a little cake and a little ice cream, the first sugar I had eaten in over a week. Can you say sugar rush! That brings me to the week before. And the last supper syndrome. All week long starting on Monday(due to a family reunion on the weekend) I drank 2 protein shakes a day and had one sensible meal all protein based. I mostly went to Chipotle all week and ordered a burrito bowl with no rice..Only black beans, chicken and cheese one day I added some guacamole.  One day I skipped Chipotle and at a couple hard boiled eggs and sting cheese.  Then came Friday my last day of solids for a while.  I had a protein shake for breakfast, lunch consisted of a  house salad with bleu cheese, a half of a grilled chicken breast with montaray jack cheese, and 2 jalapeno poppers( Which tore my stomach up so bad because they were fried) Dinner consisted of a foot long crab salad sandwich.  If you ask me I didn't do too bad. The two protein shake and one meal was my idea and not Dr Hoehns so I feel better that I can succeed after surgery. As for the rest of the day yesterday I was surrounded by pizza and other junk food but never once gave in to those temptations.  I have had chicken broth, vegetable broth, sugar free Jello, 1 protein shake, and water  yesterday . Today I have had Crystal Light, chicken broth and Jello. Its 1:30 pm and I have to drink the Magnesium Citrate before 4 pm. I have a slight headache but I don't know if I should take Tylenol for it. So I will just settle for now. I would like to thank all of you that have helped me through now. I was ready to give up, but because of all of you I have stayed the course and will reach my first goal of actually having surgery.  I can't wait to share all of my future accomplished goals with you. Thanks again I like my last comment in my post so much last time I decided to make it my quote and will be adding it to my sig line.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, with the very best of wishes for a very successful surgery day and the many "losing" days ahead of you!  Wow!  I too will also be following along in a little over a month with my surgery, so will be watching for your post-op comments!!!  Just reading about some of your pre-op diet here in the past week or so let's me know that will most likely be the same process I will take since Dr. Hoehn is also my surgeon.  You're going to do fantastic!!  Take good care!

You'll be fine with your diet.  Tomorrow is going to go so smoothly!  I woke up on Friday thinking, "Did they do it?"  I still feel pretty "normal."  It's hard to explain.  I was expecting this whole new feeling to come over me after surgery, but it didn't.  I'm just not hungry and I'm content with water, juice and protein shakes.  That part is weird, but I still "feel" the same.

Let us know asap that you're well.  What an exciting time.  You'll be in my prayers!

Christine
