The good and the bad
First the good, they called me yesterday and told me I am getting my band fixed...TOMORROW. I go in at 8:00 am for surgery. Don't know who is paying for it, just know it isn't me!
Now for the bad...some of you know my boxers are my children. The girl in my avatar is my baby, Hopper. In October she was diagnosed with lymphoma and we did chemo. She has done great on it and the lymphoma never returned. But, she developed liver cancer. Yesterday, we let her go. She passed peacefully in my arms. I feel horrible over making the choice to end her life but know she is no longer in pain. In a week she had lost 10 pounds and lost control of her bladder again. Yesterday morning it took her an hour and a half just to get up.
So, while receiving good news on the surgery, I was too upset over Hopper to truly enjoy it.
Wish me luck that this band doesn't leak.

Jennifer so sorry about your fur baby. We know that we can get really attached to them just as if they are our children. Know that you did the right thing tho with her.
Congradulations on getting another band, sure hope nothing happens with this one doest get a hole in it.

Hi Jennifer, Congratulations on getting your band fixed. I am so very sorry to hear about Hopper. Just know that she is not in pain & is in such a great place. We get so attatched to these furry family members that they do become our babys. Good luck on your surgery, I will pray for a great recover. ((((BIG HUGS)))) Angy
Oh Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear about Hopper. You know how I feel about our fur babies and you know I have been where you are right now. It is sooo hard and heart breaking. You know though that you loved Hopper and she loved you with all she had to give. You gave her a wonderful home and a wonderful life. Hopper or any doggie is lucky to have you as a Mama. They are a part of our family and a part of our hearts. I am thinking of you also on the surgery for fixing you band. I'll be waiting to hear from you. God Bless, Glenna
Thanks to all for the thoughts on the loss of Hopper. I am back home after surgery and even though I know Desilu does her best, she just can't babysit me like Hopper did. Desilu is a little 'flighty' and gets distracted from care. Hopper was my loyal little girl and would not leave my side. sigh.... it will get better with time.
But now to me! As you can tell I am home. I just woke up a little while ago to get something to drink. Dr. Edwards replaced my entire band and I have the new AP band. I got them to take some pictures and he said he would give me pictures from his camera of my inside! woohooo! Will get my pictures up later and share the ones he took when I get them.
So, I now have a second bandaversary. #1 was 7-25-07 and #2 5-14-08. Would I do it again, you betcha! He sent my band off to the company for them to examine as to why it leaked. They apparently paid for my surgery, which they should have.
Now, time to go back to sleep. Talk later and will see everyone at COF.
Jennifer
