Time for another update (rambling). This week on May 1st I started to somewhat start preparing my eating habits for surgery. I got my 2 new tubs of protein delivered (5lbs of Cafe Mocha and 5lbs of Chocolate Mint ) Sip Sip Sip! Chew Chew Chew!  So I had been having 2 shakes to supplement for meals and one meal in the day.  Except today I had 3 hard boiled eggs and a protein shake for breakfast.  I then went a little overboard for dinner. DAMN STROUDS and their "PAN FRIED CHICKEN"!   My cousin took my family out to eat tonight.... Well I had a case of the last meal type thing. Strouds is world famous for their fried chicken so I gave into it for tonight. But I'll be back on plan tomorrow! ( didnt really go overboard just chose to eat fried chicken breast and sides.)  I plan to go back to 2 shakes a day and one sensible (protein loaded) meal until surgery on the 19th. Well I had the sleep study done and the results are in... Yep they said I need to have a CPAP machine. I stopped breathing something like 48 times and my longest was almost a minute. Tomorrow I am being fitted for a machine. I will need to see the pulmonologist again in 3 months. I also went and had my EGD done on Friday... what fun that was... really the people ther were so nice and funny. I loved having fun joking with the nurses while waiting for the doctor to arrive.  They finally came back to my room where I had already had an IV started and wheeled me into another room.  While in there the nurse asked me if I wanted a strawberry daiquiri or a margarita. I told her I don't drink but to fix me up with a jack and coke.  She then came over to me hooked up a syringe to the IV, proceeded to give me whatever was in it and told me I may feel the room spinning and things may start to look fuzzy.  I of course said nah I'll just stay awake during the procedure and I laughed  .... HAH last thing I remember was saying that.  I woke up as they were wheeling me into recovery and I like jumped up... I told them I was ready to go.  They of course told me to just relax and they would come get me in a bit but I said I was fine and ready to go... so they pulled the IV and I stood up got my shirt on and I don't even remember leaving.  My mom took me and brought me home.  I stayed up and worked from home... Let me give a piece of advice....   If you are having this procedure done, Take the day off!  I was up all day, and that night I was really grumpy.  I passed out about 11PM and was fine the next day. Well tomorrow morning first thing I will have my blood drawn for my pre-op blood work. Then I will meet the the anaesthesiologist for a pre-op consult since I have never in my life had surgery. Then as I mentioned before I will need to go get my CPAP machine and mask. This Friday I am leaving town to go to a family reunion in Eufala OK I will be back on Sunday and I will go for my 2nd and final consult with my surgeon on Monday May 12th. At that time the countdown will be one week and I will post more on my journey and bewildering thoughts.

You're almost there, yay!  You're almost my surgery buddy, but I go a few days before you... close enough though.  Best wishes.  It's going to be here before we know it.

cdecker, Thank you for posting your "ramblings" I am keeping up with your progress as I am using the same office and am interested in what they are having you do.  Hopefully I will only be a few months behind you.   Do you know if they have everyone do the EGD? bec
