Brenda sent home on no medicines!

I forgot to mention that Dr. Hornbostel sent me home on vitimains only, I am off all my old medicines completely!  I know I'm very swelled from the surgery, my wedding ring is so tight, and my pants are leaving a elastic indention around my waist, and they were too big before surgery- I know this is from just having surgery, but also, I wonder if my body is missing all that lasix I was on?  I feel fine so I am not stressing it- jsut wondering.  My blood sugar reading this morning was 173 so it is coming right on down.  Hard to believe I can have a number like that drinking fruit juice!  but mostly I'm doing water, ice, jello, and chicken broth.  Will start vits. and protein (clear bullets) tomorrow.

Hi, I'm a newbie to the site and have been following your recovery with excitement.  Sounds like things are going so well. Except the swelling--yuch, I hate it when my hands get swollen.  I can't believe your diabetes disappeared that fast.  I also can't believe you are talking about going out to the nursery--sounds like you have so much energy.  How many days post-op are you.  What are the protein bullets you talk about? In a dash- the protein bullets are a clear type protein drink, they are called bullets because of the shape on the cantainer.   They are called New Whey and I have the orange flavored ones.  I can't say they taste great, but they do the job getting my protein in.  I"m still clear liquid phase post surgery for a week, so they are allowed.  Then I'm on to regular liquids, like the regular protein shakes for a couple weeks, them progress on to trying puree'd foods or baby food, then start experimenting with regular foods.  It is all trial and error, what agrees with one pouch, might not someone elses.  I'm out the door to help Randy re-decorate his office, he got new carpet and paint and funiture while we were gone and now it's time to go arrange everything.  Mostly I'm going to boss! hahaha
