Hello out there everyone. My surgery is scheduled for May 5 in Columbia, MO. I am excited and nervous at the same time, but ready to start a new life for myself and a healthier one. I am towards the end of my two week liquid diet, and I am ready to croak!!!!!  I would like to find some Citracal Creamy Bites to use for the calcium citrate....have some powdered calcium citrate that I can never seem to get dissolved and feels like a moutful of grit every time I take a drink of my protein drink. Any suggestions out there? I don't like the other chewables made by some companies, and I know they have discontinued the creamy bites, but thought someone might accidently know. Thanks, and I would appreciate anyone's prayers on my surgery date, and hearing from anyone with surgery on or about that time.

Sorry can't help you with the calcuim but just wanted to say Hi and hope all goes well with you and your surgery.  You are my neighbor and my daughter does live in Marshall so I felt it was important that I let you know that you got a friend here.   I have heard a few DS'er talk about some powder calcuim citirate that they get from Vitalady here on the boards but I don't know how more or anything like that but you can contact her I am sure she will tell you what she has.   I wish you well and a speedy recovery.  If there is anything I can do to help you just ask.   Marylin 14/180/150

Hey, thanks for answering. I appreciate hearing from someone so close in proximity to me. I am currently trying the powdered calcium citrate and feel like I get a mouthful of sand no matter what I put it in. I will keep looking. And, thanks, I will keep in touch.

Good luck with surgery....we have a spot for you on the bench!!!   I have stayed away from the chews because of sugar content...but i did find some wafers on www.vitacost.com  the brand is NSI and it is $10 for a months supply....chewable citrate is hard to find and that is the only one i have found in all my searching.

I got those and they're not terrible.  Also, have you tried the liquid cal citrate?  Tropical Oasis makes one.. Nancy knows all about that one.. I'm almost positive that they sell it in the health food store in Sedalia.  It's the one in the parking lot with K-Mart.  Also, they have a whole new bariatric section in the store.. it's pretty cool.  You should give that store a look before your surgery.  Best wishes!  Monday will be here before you know it.
