Angel Support?

Hello, I am confused a little as always...LOL....So, here are a couple of questions...what is the angel support? How do I get one? Do I choose them and ask, do they choose me and ask me? Does everyone get one? Do I need to know my surgery date before looking for one... do I post saying I would like one? I am sure whoever takes me for the surgery will stay till after the surgery, then they will prob come back home.... We live 3.5 hrs away. I cant ask anyone to stay 3-4 days in a hotel out of town sitting around waiting for me ... So, I would like to find out how I go about getting one...I am not too freaked out about the surgery as I am being alone. I am married but I am sure my husband will still be gone and unable to make it back in time. Thanks!~Lo

Howdy Ms. Thyn (lol) Getting an Angel can work either way. Most of the time if you post that you would like to have an Angel, someone will ask you if you would like them to be yours. But if you know of anyone on the board that you feel comfortable with already, know personally or chat with often and you would like them to be there is no harm at all in asking them yourself. They do need to have already have had surgery. That is part of being an Angel. You have been there and done that and know more about what to expect as you help your Angelett thru their journey. And NO you do not have to have a date set yet to have an Angel. You need support in the beginning as much as you do after a date or surgery. I use to try and do posts now and then so that newbies could post their names if they did not have an Angel and so that post-ops interested in being an Angel could let me know if they were interested at the time to be an Angle but I have gotten so busy the past several months that I don't get time to be on like I use to be on. I live in Sedalia, and I have had surgery just not the RNY.  I would be glad to post for you and if you don't care that I haven't had your kind of surgery I don't have a problem helping you as much as I can.  I am planning to be at the meeting Sunday so if you are coming this way we could meet.  I hope to hear from you and if you would like I will give you a pm with my numbers and stuff.  It's totally up to you.
