About a year and a half or so I had an ultrasound done because I had tumors and had to have a hysterectomy. I had it last sept. and I remembered that I was told I had to lose weight because I had Metabolic Syndrome. I didnt have one of the BEST dr.s the gave me some print outs and a web address and told me to read about it. I never saw her again, as I had moved about 2 weeks later here to Joplin where I had my hysterectomy. I am wanting to make sure I can still have this surgery and to find out more info on it. Basically, I want to know more about it and if it will go away once I lose the weight... Thanks!

go on google and put in Metabolic syndrome, it should give you all sorts of info and then ask Dr. H. that would be the best thing to do . Since none of us are doctors we arent allowed to say yes or no. I think if it were me i most definiaty would try finding out about it.   I will see what i can find out about it too for you and give to you monday night at the meeting. ok? Love and hugs

Hello,      This is Kerri323 and I was dx with metabolic syndrome two years ago.  It has so much to do with weight, genetics, insulin and the good old pancrease.  It can cause infertility and weight loss issues.  I know all this from experience.  I have such a hard time loosing weight, I look at food and gain a pound.  I yo-yo all the time.  I have an issue with insulin.  I am also Insulin resistant.  I am not a diabetic, the insulin never gets shut off from my pancrease.  This from what I have been told is a genetic thing.  This in turn cause me to gain weight  and eat due to my blood sugars being so weird.  I have spoke to my pcp and was told that the RNY would most likley totally stop the metabolic syndrome in me.  Do you also have PCOS?  I have that too.  Took my husband and I a year to concieve.  Then we had twins.  Talk about a surprise.  I do feel that with this surgery I will be a totally new and healthier person with out metabolic syndrome.  Were your menses cycles normal.  Irregularity is another sign of Meta"B" syndrome.  If you have any questions please let me know.  I am also a LPN and have worked in ob-gyn for a time.  Hugs Kerri
