I have heard from one person who had surgery with a cold...has anyone else had a cold (no fever) and Dr. Hornbostel still did their surgery?

Does he do the 1 week follow up always on Wednesdays???  Or, what ever day of the week it falls on?

Brenda, Are you sick?  My children have been fighting colds for about 2 weeks now.  I have been telling them not to give it to me.  I bought some Zicam to use if I feel it coming on.  My date is May 1st.  I hope you all is well. Meg

Thats just the klinker....with my empaired lungs, I've managed to stay well through my husband having the crud, and the entire rest of the family having it.  But 4 days before surgery is tomorrow and I sure stil have the cough/cold.  I'll go for another shot in the morning.  Those sting like a big-dog but I need to do what ever it takes between now and next Monday.

I hope the boys don't re-lapse...

OK, just talked to Margie, and if the sleepy doctor says they can put me to sleep, the cold should not be a problem...  So, I'm doing all I can to make my coughing better this weekend!  Whew, what a relief!

I'm pretty sure he sees us post-ops on tuesdays and thursdays and NEW patients on wednesdays...good luck with that cough...are you taking anything for it?  Is it possibly allergies???

I'm thinking sinus drainage/allergies...because of the cracking ears, I don't usually have that...  Pollen is everywhere right now!

Thanks for the patient info.  We are supposed to have Canada company the following Wed. so I was hoping it was  not that day for post ops.

I'm taking the whole medicine cabinet...ha!

Good night,

I am counting on your visit if you can make it!  I hope you can come by on Tuesday when I'm awake (Monday I'll be all slobber mouth-ed knocked out sleepy....ha!)

Being put to sleep makes me goofy as can be, you will have to remind me of your name when you get there.....  I mean it's so bad  I get my days and nights mixed up for a couple days afterwards!  I hope it's better this time, but seems being put to sleep really makes me loopy.

Bring me a big ole' steak to chew on....oh man......will this liquid diet ever end!!!

Brenda maybe some of the old fashioned remedies would help some. Vicks salve in a pot of warm water making some steam , hold a towel over your head and and the pan with vicks and breath it deeply some times that will help some. Or if you have a saline nasal spray it will help get the pollen our of the nostrils...I know these are old stuff but sometimes the old stuff works.  Wow Monday will be here soon .....do you have everything you need? love you Jan

Jan, I have everything I need, but dn't know if I'll ever get it all packed...ha!  Since we are staying for the better part of a week in Sedalia I'm having to pack a lot of stuff for the both of us.

I ordered some of those orange flavored bullets off e-bay and got them in today.  They are clear so I should be able to have them pretty soon after surgery (week or so) I believe???  They look like cool-aid to me.

I will def. put vicks in my bag and have Randy put it on my feet if I wake up coughing bad.  Poor guy, he has been through so many surgeries with me, we almost have it down to a fine art....

I've never heard of a iris farm in Harrison....where is it??????  I can't wait to visit you and see your green house set-up!  You just wait till I get well!

Mom called tonight and she is having her second knee replaced in July of this year.  That is good, but it's hard for her to put herself on the couch again- but it really needs done.

Better go, take care, Brenda
