First appt with surgeron tuesday

My first appointment with Dr. Kevin Suttmoeller in Columbia is tuesday,(4-22-08). I have no idea what to expect. I know I should ask questions but my mind is a total blank, I have no idea what to ask him. Has anyone delt with him and if so could you give me some insite as well as questions to ask. Thank you. Hi Shawna, When I went to see Dr Suttemoeller he did most of the talking. He is very nice. He will tell you all the test he wants you to have done. And I think that was about the extent of the visit. It didn't last very long. Before you see him they will weigh you and take your medical history. As you are having your test done be sure to get copies of them and take them to the office yourself when you go in. They have a habit of losing things over there. I took all my test results to be sure they had them. Everyone over there has been very nice so far...Good luck on your journey...

Shawna, Dr Suttmoeller is an Internist / Bariatrician - not a surgeon. I saw him today.   After you check in they will get your vitals then take you to a room. Posha, his nurse, will come in and will go over everything you filled out on your paperwork.  Dr Suttmoeller then comes in and goes over your folder. I didn't really ask any questions - he pretty well covers everything. During my first visit I had to have blood drawn, but he didn't say anything about any other tests.  My insurance requires completion of a 6 month medically supervised, multidisciplinary program. During my first visit they scheduled me for that (which is held at their office). I like the fact that it's a one-stop shop. You will like him; he's very nice. Good luck.
