Slimy Mouth

What a day. I forced myself to drink a Boost shake today because my blood sugars are not going down using Slim Fast. It was so slimy it totally grossed me out. TMI I know.... I threw it up and have been grossed out all day long.

So I drank a 100 Gold Standard Whey shake using water and a sweet N Low pack...it did the same thing to me! I had even wiped off my tongue and brushed my teeth and tongue.

I am on prilocet after my stomach scope. Could it possibly be that causing the problem? I've never had this before. I'll glad to be finished with that today. I don't understand why he put me on it, I never have acid reflux or indigestion or any stomach problems along that line.

Has this happened to anyone else???? Either pre or post.

Hey Brenda...if my memory serves me correctly you had bacteria in your stomach that he treated with some antibiotics after your scope???  If so, that bacteria is H-pylori and is the culprit behind many cases of ulcers.  Since that bug has been in you I am sure he is trying to reduce the stomach acid in your stomach to give it a "break" and allow it to be the healthiest it can be before surgery.  You may not have had any ulcers but with the presence of the bacteria it greatly increases your chances of ulcers so he is just covering from both angles....the prilosec is an acid reducer.  I doubt it is causing your "slimy mouth"...not sure what to tell you on that.  I had thrush AFTER surgery but self treated with sal****er gargles and it went away...9 days and counting...this will be over soon.
