I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital yesterday.  The worse pain I have ever had in my life (I have 3 children).  It was a kidney stone. (Thank goodness it wasn't my liver since I am having liver problems too.  When I researched kidney stones this morning on the computer, it said that bariatric patients are more likely to have kidney stones because of obsorbtion problems. Seems that everytime that I have something go wrong that someone is blaming it on my WLS.  Whats up with that!!! Sorry to whine but I was fat before but I didn't have all of these health issues.  Maybe it is old age.  Anyway, thought I would check with everyone else.

Hugs,
Sharlene

Wow we have the same doctor and had surgery around the same time.  I had kidney stones in January and might have them again now.  I know what you mean.  I could sneeze and everyone blames it on my WLS.  It is nuts!

Oh Sharlene - I'm so sorry!  Yes, there was just a thread here on the Missouri board about that a few days ago and I looked up some info on it and posted in that thread.   Here's a link to that thread.

I would like to know what kind of Calcium you have been taking since surgery, Carbonate or Citrate?  Calcium carbonate is known to cause kidney stones while Calcium citrate doesnt. Just wondering.

I had been using Bariatric Advantage but then I ran out and have been using Citracal for a few weeks.  I am now back on Bariatric Advantage.  Do you think the switch might have had something to do with it?

I have them.  Been dealing with them for the last 2 weeks.  I think I finally passed it.  But I have an infection and blood in my urine because of it.  I had them before WLS.  So I don't think my WLS caused it but I think all the water I drink now may have flushed it out.  I have been living on Vicodine and Toradol for 2 weeks.  Going to a urologist today.  Yesterday was my first day without pain meds, I was still hurting but I could deal with it without the drugs.   Good luck I hope you feel better!

Peace in all you do,
Bel
