Thanks all. I think if my scale is right, I have lost about 14 lb.s, it is hard to say because I retain water. also, I ate food on sat,    i know i know,  I was out doing stuff most of the day , and was just hungry and plain sick of being hungry, I figured  on sat. it was the last time I was ever going to eat (normally) again, though I am sorry I did now. In a few hr.s I have to take the mag citrate and the stuff I ate is still in my tummy like a rock, I am regretting it big time, and i'm sure I will pay for it. I don't think the fat from my last meal will infiltrate my liver by monday (i hope) . Today clear liquids, tommorow , up at 3.00am , on the road to sedalia 3:30 am, at the hosp. by 6:30 am , hope to be all done by 10:00am, ready to be normal again, I can't wait, I still feel like it's a dream, I won't know what to do with myself once I won't have to shop at catherines or lane bryant anymore. Is it real? will I really get to go to the mall in the reg. sizes? I haven't been able to do that since I was a teenager, even then I was a 14/16. I bought an excersize bike at a rummage sale for 3.00 dollars! DP the kind that you pedal and hang on to arms that move back and forth , (giving arms workout too) the front wheel is a fan that makes a big whooshing sound, I got on there and went to town...ONE MIN. I just can't beleive that's all I lasted, but plan to do it 3 or 4 x a day as soon as i'm healed. ANY HOW PLEASE WISH ME LUCK AND PRAYERS FOR MONDAY. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE WONDERFUL CARING PEOPLE HERE, SUSAN

Susan: Congrats on your surgery tomorrow!  You will be in my prayers.  Do you have an angel?  Someone who will post on how you're doing?  I see you have Dr. Hornbostel.  I think you have the BEST one!  He did my lap rny 3/5/07 and I am currently 2 lbs below my goal! Yes, you will be able to shop at the mall and all the other places you couldn't before.  It really is a life change event.  Just follow doctors orders and do what you're suppose to do.  I'm sure you'll do great! Please be sure and have someone post to let us all know how you are doing. Debbie D.

Susan, I'm so proud for you that your waiting is all but over. I have 22 more days to get through until my surgery. You have done so well, I just pray that your surgery goes great and your recovery fast! Girl you STOLE that bike, I have one and I paid boo-coo bucks for it a few years back. It kicks my butt when I try to ride it. The arm action really gives you a work out! Because I get short of breath riding, the fan really helps me move air easier. Plus, I think the arms moving helps you loose around your waistline. Maybe I should bring mine up from the basement and put in it front of the living room TV.....Hubby might join me riding it if it was in his way! hahahaha

I can certainly understand you eating your last meal, I'd think you are not the first to do this... I never order BBQ ribs, Randy always orders those...but since I'm all liquid, that is the food I'd darn near sell my Momma for!!!! Seems I am just craving that particular food - I wonder why.... I'd be better off if I cheated to eat some tuna or something like that- but for some reason, ribs are on my mind- Did you crave things you rarely ate????

It is 3½ hours to Sedalia from Harrison where I live, so the night before surgery we are staying in a hotel, probly the Comfort Inn. We stayed there before my scope and it is pretty nice.

I ordered PJ's that I can walk the halls in, and got some loose knit pants at WM on clearance and some long tee-shirts.  I usually wear gowns, but in the hospital I like to be able to get up and down and not have to use a house-coat.  If I need one, I'll just use a hospital gown.  Need to figure out some sort of slippers too- there is a lot to think of when going to the hospital isn't there?  I have a walker on wheels and I'm taking that so I can lay my portable oxygen on the seat part, and lean on the walker when I walk.  Plus if I can't make it back to the room, I'll have a place to sit and rest a minute.

Hope I've helped you pass some time reading this...ha!

My prayers will be with you- please let us know you are ok after surgery!

Yeah Rah!  It's here for you! I'm so happy that your day has finally come.  I pray the very hand of God will guide every one that cares for you, from the surgeon, to the nurses, to every one that concerns you... I too, so look forward to being able to do the things I couldn't do before at least not with ease!   I had one of those bikes you talk about and the part I liked the best is that the wind blew up in your face from the front fan wheel... although that did not stop me from turning on the ceiling fan and the high velocity fan too!  I HATE to be hot! ~tee hee  It sounded like a jet engine was roaring when I exercised!  Now I use a Tony Gazelle... I have found it is not near as hard on the joints as other equipt I have tired... I cannot at this time do the arm part of it but I can sure get my heart rate up good... it doesn't take much! Susan, rest in the arms of one that can take such good care of you!   bec

Best of luck tomorrow!  Reading your post reminded me of how I felt those few days before surgery.  Don't worry - you will eat "normally" again.  It is just that normal for you will be a lot less than you are used to now.  Believe me at one year out it is a great feeling to sit down to a meal with small portions of food on my plate and enjoy it slowly and be full!  I look at other's plates and think - how did I ever eat that much ;) You are in my prayers that your surgery will go smoothly and with no complications! God Bless!

I actually work for Bothwell...I will try to see if I can check up on you...I have to make a visit in Stover tomorrow but I think that is going to be in the afternoon....I'm so excited for you...I remember my anxiety levels reaching all time highs the day before...don't stress about the "last meal"...I had to have McDs filet-o-fish of all things!!  It just proves you're human like the rest of us.  Good luck to you tomorrow...you have a great surgeon!!!!
