banded Jan 8...
New to this board, was banded in Mexico (insurance denied me) Have a history of diabetes with A1C around 11 (very high) since beeing banded about 7 weeks after my a1C had dropped to 6.7. Best news I have ever had ( this was the period I was on the liguid diet) well have not had one ran but know it is much higher again. Started at 216, went up and down. Had my first fill about 5 weeks ago, went back in. I thought I had not lost anything but was down 5 lbs. Got my second fill just a few days ago, much more restrictions. I think i have problem with the rules, but am learning. SOmetime I have trouble eting anything when I am in a sitting posiiton. SOmetime small amounts come back up. I do not want to mess this up. Is this Ok. Is my weight loss ok?? It feels very slow up to this point. Thanks in advance.
Hi there,
I was banded on the 9th! I have lost more weight however your BMI maybe wasn't as high as mine I was about 39. I'm 5'11" and started at 272 on 1-6. The start of my liquid diet. I am down 28 lbs. so I think my BMI is now 34ish. If you have more fat to lose you lose it quicker. example: watching the biggest loser the really large people lose more weight from week to week. I have been eating pretty good.. slip up from time to time but nothing terrible as pre-band. I exercise 4 t0 5 times a week about 45 minutes each. I think you're on tatrget since you were in the low 200's. You may find better and more answers on the Lap Band board. There doesn't seem to be too many here unfortunately. Best of luck and take care! Maureen
