I will be attending the seminar Dr Edwards is having this evening at St John's Surgery Center here in Springfield Mo at 6:00. Is there anything in particular that I should ask or get info about  other than just everything! I am taking a notebook but I am just blank on what to ask or something in particular to listen for. I do have questions in regards to the surgery and my endometreosis and the scarring that it causes being an issue. I will have my first nurtrition visit on April 9th and the exercise visit is April 15th. So I am just starting my journey but I know it will be a long process. I am just so weak and have such a hit and miss will power. I just know my health depends on it and I am sick and tired of being overweight and feeling bad and feeling my stomach touch my legs as I sit. It is awful to even speak of. I am so embarrassed that I have let it go this far for so long. Please pray for me! Meleta

Sending prayers up for you now!!!  You will think of questions as he goes through stuff...just make notes and ask them when you get the chance.  You are not alone in the sick and tired and weakness area here.  You are surrounded by friends who will support and understand what you are going through...i mean think about it...if we weren't weak and sick and tired...we wouldn't be here would we?  Things will start moving along and before you know it you will be feeling great.  Keep us informed....   Nancy

Too bad I wasn't on earlier tonight, I would have had you ask him what happens if you have a LEAK!!!  He is testing me for that tomorrow.  My fluid disappeared, they refilled me and I have no restriction.   Dr. Edwards is wonderful though and when I attended it, he answered the questions I would have asked.  I hope you are scheduled with Amy for your exercise.  I LOVE her, she is wonderful.  Cute, fit, no fat on her and she will be the first one to tell you genitics played a part in it.  I was so happy to hear her tell me that instead of "If you just exercise you can look like this too" ah, no I will get this off but will never be that fit, firm and small.  She is also realistic in her goals with you.  I still see her about once a month and I have been doing this a year counting the supervised phase.   Let us know how it went!   Jennifer

The seminar was really informitive. But being on the website here gave me the upper hand on knowledge of the two surgeries he does. I actually met a lady that I use to sing with at my old church and she is going to have the lap band w/medicare insurance. Dr Edwards said last night that he had got approved for medicare and that it should be final in about a week. He stated that the Lap Band surgery for an individual would be $16,500 and the Gastric Bypass Roux-en-Y is $26,500. My insurance will only pay for the gastric bypass they said and that is after I do the nutrition and exercise "New Image" program for 6 months then I can make an appointment with Dr Edwards. If I wasn't so poor I would pay to have the Lap Band myself because of the risks of the Roux-en-Y. So I am in the process of filling out the paper work for the doctor and it seems like it is the same info that I just sent in that was in the packet of info for the "New Image". So I guess it's just the wait now. My appointments for the "New Image" start April 9th and 15th.
