Hi, Nancy: Welcome to the MO Board!  First of all, let me welcome you to the loser's bench!  The MO Board has a great group of people who will love, support and try to answer your question.   I had lap rny 3/5/07 and have lost a total of 112 lbs.  I am currently 2 lbs below my goal. The most important thing right now is that you drink your protein shakes.  Sip, sip, sip!  I wouldn't worry too much about eating at this stage.  You really need your protein and water.  Are you able to get up and walk a little every day?  Even if you just walk around your house a little every day that counts! Once again, Welcome!  Please keep us posted on your progress.  You can do it! Debbie D.

Thanks for the welcome!!!  Counting the two weeks i had to do the slim fast and my first week home I have lost 15 pounds.  I am getting all my fluids in, i guess what i am trying to figure out is how in the heck to get them ALL in when it takes 2 hours just to take in one cup...i am still on the 1oz per 15 minutes stage...and i am doing the protein and getting in about 75gm daily.  I feel great, but i don't want to miss out on adding foods to my regimen.  It just adds hours to the whole thing.  I guess i am just thinking too hard about it.  I do feel good.  I'm not hungry.  I miss the texture of food and having something to chew, but not enough to try something i shouldn't that will probably make me sick.   Im proud to be on the losers bench with all of you losers!!   Have a happy Easter!! Nancy

Hi Nancy Im sorry too that you didnt find us before surgery, We have some wonderfull ladies here who do a great job being angels... We can all be your angel now .... I agree with Traci that the only Protein that we get 100% of is in the shakes. the protein we get in food we metabolize about half of it and that is all. So i get all my protein from shakes and if i have room left over i eat something . I dont know it others would agree that im doing right but i have never felt so good in my whole life and have lost 114 pounds . When you are a newbie it takes a lot to be able to get all of your water and all of your protein in but you just have to keep trying and pushing. It eventually will get easy.  be sure and walk as much as you possible can. that will get to  be more and more as the days go on too.  congratulations on getting the surgery, it is sort of a wild ride for the next few months. Some sizes you will zip right on by so dont spend a lot of money on new sizes...we have all found resale shops and salvation army is our friend. lol  Again welcome and have a Wonderful EASTER,

Welcome to the Missouri board and to the losers bench!!  The important thing to remember is to keep tha****er bottle with you at all times and sip.  Those sips do add up.  I second the protein shakes.  This is for life - not just for a 'stage' of your diet.  Think of protein shakes as part of your supplement routine, not so much as a meal replacement.  You need protein to live, just like you need vitamins; however, we now need to get our protein in pre-digested form, so shakes it is!
