Update
Meg, I am sorry to hear this, and completely understand your disappointment, because my insurance excluded my surgery and wouldn't budge. But I'd like to encourage you to fight, fight, fight !!! Don't give up, the doctor's offices know their stuff and they can do a lot. They know the steps to take, and they will tell you what you need to do and when. Even though it's so hard, try to be patient. It may take a little longer than you want, but don't give up hope. (My insurance situation was a different thing: my husband's employment is self-insured, his boss ultimately made the decision, just a lot of really unfortunate details I won't get into.) However, I have heard of a lot of other people who were denied at first, but after appealing, they got the coverage. And I'm sure you will too! As we all know, insurance companies like to be a pain, unfortunately, and I think sometimes they say no at first, hoping people will just give up, then they won't have to worry about it. Stay motivated! We are all pulling for you!
