WLS Medicare Dr needed Verona Mo "Springfield Mo"

I am helping a friend, she needs a wls Dr near Verona Mo or Springfiled Mo which takes medicare. How hard is it to get medicare approved for wls n MO? Thanks! Cyndi Ps I had wls 5 yrs ago! , lost 120lbs, Am at goal! Been at same weight for 2 yrs, I am happy!

there is only one that i know of that takes Medicare and that is Dr. Hornbostel in Sedalia , Mo.  he is very good , that is who i had and Medicare isnt hard to be approved , 100 pounds over weight. BMi of 40 or above, and at least one co morbidelity like High blood pressure, diabetis or other illness.  that is great that you have maintained for 5 years. do you live in or around Springfield?  I had surgery with Dr. H in Aug of o6 and have lost 110 pounds i too am happy.  Hope the info helps.

jan you are such a sweet heart!!!!  i have medicare and had to go to st. louis for my doctor b/c of center of excellence reasons.  dr. H is nice too.  i just chose to go to st. louis b/c there is more to do there when we go.ha britt

when i had my surgery i dont think st. louis was one , or it was but had no doctor that took Medicare there was some reason that it didnt work for me but thanks what hospital is it that has the center of Excellence there? and what doctor so i will quit telling people wrong info. ok?  Thanks for letting me know. jan, i was at barnes jewish hospital and my doctor was dr. eagon.  very nice.  he had not bedside manor but he sure knew his stuff.  so i do know that he is one of the few in MO. britt
