Went to the shrink today and got my test results. He said I was clear for surgery and will email my letter of recommendation to my surgeon today. BUT.. theres always a but. He would like to see me a couple more times hopefully before surgery, if not he said he would not stop me from having surgery. Just because he is concerned I mentioned I have carb cravings and like pasta because I'm Italian. He would like to work with me a little more on that. If you ask me I think he just wants to charge my insurance a couple more times. Oh well I will go and make him happy.  Also he said he would like to help me just in case of "Addiction Transfer" I was once an Alcoholic for about a year of my life but never went to meetings and stopped drinking on my own (cold turkey). I used to smoke as you may have known but have been smoke free for over a year.  I am doing WLS to become healthy. Let me see... I quit drinking , smoking and want to loose weight . I have not started drinking or smoking again since stopping the other addictions, what makes him think I will transfer addiction now? Oh well. On to the Nutritionist March 14th.

This is great news for you.. and it sounds to me like you just have a thorough psych working with you, wants to make sure you are OK>..  I have heard a lot of people change from one addiction to another, and believe me, i understand the carb cravings  and now I can't eat any and seem to lose weight.  No one told me it would be like this.. i do not in any way regret my surgery, but i feel a little misled.. I hope its not this way forever.. good luck cindy
