Just attended seminar in St. Louis - - more questions!

Hi, I just went to a seminar that New Start had and a Dr. Richardson conducted the seminar.    Has anyone on this board went to New Start and had Dr. Richardson?  Which procedure did he do for you? What do you think about Dr. Richardson as a surgeon?  I am particularly interested in the gastric sleeve procedure?  Also, anyone have United Healthcare of the Midwest - Federal contract?Any problems with them approving procedure?  Any words of advice would be most appreciated too. 

Hello! I had my RNY through NewStart with Dr. Richardson.  I attended two seminars before I had my surgery and one of them was lead by Dr. Richardson.  He's an excellent surgeon with a good bedside manner.  I'm almost 4 years out, and because at about 1 year post-op I moved and so did Dr. Richardson's office, I continued my post-op follow-up care with my family doctor, I am not familiar with what Dr. Richardson's current post-op care instructions are; but I know what they were at the time of my surgery and I will say that you need to make sure to stick to the immediate post-op stages diet Dr. Richardson recommends; and then once on a full diet:  you need to make sure you continue with a good protein shake for life, in addition to all the supplements we need as post-ops (this is if you have a malabsorptive surgery).  I had Blue Cross/Blue Shield through Chrysler at the time of my surgery (they paid 100% of my surgery), so can't help you with your insurance question.
