adjusting your goal weight
How many of you have had to do this. I just went in and raised mine..from 150 to 180. I hired a personal trainer and we just finished our first five weeks. I had my exercise pychologist measure me on 1/23 and again today so that is four weeks. I lost only 4 pounds, well, actually I lost 5 pounds of fat but gained a pound of lean. The big kicker is that I lost 7 1/4 inches in four weeks. To put this in a clear picture from 9/25 to 1/23 I lost 8 inches so in four weeks I lost what I did in four months. After talking with my personal trainer, if I keep this up, my goal weight is impossible as I would be lean mass only with no fat..which we all know can not be. My lean mass right now is 150 pounds, which is my goal weight. So, I raised it to 180 and my trainer said I would look like a size 4 or so but be 180 pounds.
This also reminds you that muscle weighs more than fat! LOL It bothers me to put my weight that high but unless I want to loose lean mass I have too. I don't want to loose the lean mass.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend a good personal trainer. I think he has made all the difference in the world and would happily share the name of mine.
But, I was just wondering if anyone else got into the weight loss and had to change their goals?
Jennifer

Yes, Jennifer, but mine was the other way. My personal goal, which I though would be the lowest I'd ever be able to go, was 165. Dr. Edwards set my goal at 135 and he was right. I made that at about 10 months and have kept within 2 or 3 pounds under that weight since then. My body obviously likes that number. I sure don't have the lean body mass thing to worry about - my main exercise is walking - but I would talk to Dr. Edwards about your goals too. You may not always be able to keep your muscle mass as high as it is when you're working as hard as you are right now. Just a thought!!
Hugs and I miss you.
