Today's my Bandiversary

This time a year ago, I was just getting home from having my lap-band surgery.  What a year it's been.  Like so many of you have said in the past - I'd do it all again and every week if I had to.  As of yesterday morning I've lost 72.6 lbs.  While I stalled out for a couple of months, something finally kicked back in last week and while I didn't reach my 75 lbs. goal, I came darn close. I don't post on here often but I do lurk a lot.  There are many now I don't know but still some of the familiar faces on here of a year ago.  I'd love to come to another COF meeting but the time schedule just doesn't allow it for me due to being a single parent during the week.  Anyway, you all have helped me in one way or another so I thank you for that. I feel so much better physically and mentally than I did a year ago.  There are times I can't see the changes, but then I'll see a picture of me last year and I can see it.  The same goes for my DH - he doesn't always see the changes but he recently saw a picture from Thanksgiving 2006 and he truly saw how different I look now.   Anyway, just wanted to share about my bandiversary and thank you all for the help you've given me during this past year, even though I don't post a lot.

Congratulations on your bandiversary and success.  You're an inspiration for those of us who are still waiting to be banded.  I hope to join the losers bench next month and hope I do as well in my first year.

Thank you, Karen!  Be patient - your time will come.  I had to do a 3 month diet too and before I knew it Mary was calling me with a surgery date.  Feel free to ask me anything - I'm an open book.

Debbie sure wish you could come to a COF meeting, how old are your kids?  You look like you have lost a lot in your picture. would love to see you in person.  Would the kids be ok in the library reading or or they too young for that. 

Hi, Jan!  Thanks for the compliment - head shots can be a little deceiving.  But I am slowly getting there.  I just have one little boy and he's 5.  While I know he'd be good if I brought him with me, it's just not feasible for me to drive home (Ozark) and back to Springfield with the gas prices, etc.  Plus we need to be home and getting him ready for bed by 8:00.  Maybe one time I can make it to the A.N.G.E.L.S. group when it's on a Friday night and I know my husband will be home early.  I'd love to see you all again and meet new people.
