One Week follow up and soup question
Good evening everyone,
I just wanted to update with you about my follow up visit with the doctor. I had my tube removed and staples removed. I lost 13.5 pounds. That was real exciting. I was moved up to the next stage of foods (scrambled eggs, mash potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, creamy blended soups, and sugar free pudding. I ate a scrambled egg and mash potatoes last night for supper and it stayed down and did not get stuck - I was scared though. It took forever to eat one scrambled egg and 1/4 cup of mash potatoes. I got one of those candle warmers and put my saucer plate on it - it did the trick to keep it warm. I tried some sugar free pudding with my unjury chocolate protein shake this morning. My stomach did not like that at all. I did not get sick but losts of stomach rumbles and frequent trips to the bathroom.
I am still having a sharp left side pain. The doc said that it would get better after tube was removed - NOT. It is keeping me up all night and hard to get up and move around. I did read on the post op pain relief forum that this is pretty common due to them cutting into the muscle. I just wi**** would hurry and go away. I guess that is why the doc said to take 6 weeks off from work to give myself time to heal. If it was not from the side ache I would be climbing the walls with bordom . I
I do have a question about soups - the doc has down that I can have Creamy Tomato soup - I went to have the Campbell's Soup in the hand Creamy Tomato and as I was sipping it I read the label and it states that it has 24 grams of sugar. I love tomoto soup but I backed away from it because I was so scared of the contents - if the doc said it is ok could it possible be good (if there is any good) sugar and it is ok to drink. The little that I did sip did not effect me. If anyone can help that would be great.
I really appreciate this forum - I learn so much from all of you.
