I am a self-pay and at the seminar the dr. stated he doesn't charge for fills in the first year..Had surgery on 1/9 had my 2nd check up last week w/ Dr. we scheduled my first fill for 2/11. Not a mention that the hospital has a charge..They called today to inform me and to have my money on Monday a.m. $400. I thought the amount was way out of line and the fact that none of this has been mentioned through this whole process. Is this amount way out there please advise..and info on your fills would be helpful...I'm all for a road trip in order to get a fill at a more reasonable rate. Thanks for your advise and support! all the doctors around here that i have heard anything about do the fills in their office so no hospital charges needed....wow that is a lot of money to dish out possible 3 or 4 times to get the right spot on your fills.

A guy at our church just went to Mexico to have his lapband done; and Dr. Richardson will be doing his fills and supposedly for $200 each fill.  Not sure if this is an agreement with Dr. R and the Mexican surgeon, or just what Dr. R. charges for fills.  Might give him a call, he's in Washington, Missouri.

That's ridiculous and something they should tell everyone who's self-pay.  The fluoro machine was broke for several months at the Springfield office and everyone had to go to the hospital for their fills - I'm 99.9% sure the self-pay patients did not have to pay anything for their fills at the hospital.  I do know that my insurance was charged $450 for my first 2 fills and they were at the hospital.  I guess the huge price is when they do them under fluoroscope???  I'd be very upset and call your doctor's office to dispute this.
