Victory Over Food Celebrate Recovery Group in Columbia

Several of us who are more than a year out from weight loss surgery have felt the need to have a support group that focuses on the original reason that put us here in the first place--food addiction, plain and simple. Personally I am 3 1/2 years out from surgery and have lost 230 lbs. Although I have not gained weight, I find I can eat a lot more than I used to and some of my old habits are creeping up. I definitely do not want to go back where I was. I am finding a support group to honestly share my temptations to be very helpful. Victory Over Food is a Celebrate Recovery group that meets the first and third Thursdays 6:30-8 p.m. at Christian Chapel, 3300 S. Providence in Columbia. It is for women, those who have had surgery and those who have not. It focuses on the 12-step recovery process as directly related to food. It is a Celebrate Recovery group so it is unabashedly Christian in its focus. We are meeting this Thursday, Feb. 7. If you would like to join us feel free.
