HELLO KANSAS CITY FRIENDS We had our first meeting of 2008 on Monday night. There were only 6 of us there, but we started a poster to show how much weight, as a group we have lost. As of January 28, 2008, of the members that were there we have lost over 480 pounds. Isn't that an incredible amount. Just imagine when we have all of our group there. We have a chart that we put a little "people" marker on for each ten pounds of weight that we have lost.  Bev is back in the hospital, we need to continue to keep her in our prayers. We missed you all, and hope to see you soon. Our next scheduled meeting is for February 25, 2008 at 7 pm.  There is another group that has started in Higginsville, you can check with Colette, Chip or Denise to find out the details of that meeting. It seems to me that it is scheduled for February 11.  Looking forward to seeing less of everyone soon. Thelma

Mercy, mercy, mercy no. Colette is still doing the class in Lee's Summit/Kansas City. She is also working at the one in Higginsville. I was the one who got the posterboard and the little calendar people to paste on the board so that we could see how we are doing as a group. A lot of times, we look over what we do as an individual and we need to see what we do as a group. We all hit those standstills, but we are a team (of losers) and we are conquering great goals as a team.  I think that the class in Higginsville will be like the mid-way between the class in KC. Therefore it would be like having extra support half way between. Thanks, Thelma

just had to drop in this morning and say hello.  Thans for posting Thelma.  In answer to Jans question, I have attended the Higginsville group and will continue as time allows, but I am still going to Lee Summit.  But I agree that Thelma would be a great leader.  It is just so much fun to see the people each month.  Higginsville is only 6 miles from my house but we have very capable leaders in the higginsville group also.  It is so nice to have both groups and if one cant make it to one they can come to the other.   It is so great that Kim is approved to have her surgery on Feb. 12, .  Everyone keep her in your prayers.  God Bless.   Colette

Hi  I'm 2 yrs out and used to be here all the time. But not now I do check in occasionally. I would like info on the KC support group please. I can't seem to ever make it to my hospital's group. But I've continued to see my wonderful psychologist. He has been my rock.  I'm 34 weeks pregnant and may have to wait to get to a meeting until after march 10th ( my c-section date) but I would love to come if I would be welcome.  Are there many WLSers that far out as well or is it mostly newbies? We do have different needs but I would still like to get together. my email j[email protected] just in case. thanks Jen

Jen~ Hope your day is blessed and you forget the rest.

Jan, we would love to have you come to our meeting. We have  people that have time spans that are more than a year and some who have just had surgery, and many in between.  Colette is our group leader and she does a wonderful job, and trys to help keep us in line. We always learn something, but the fact that it helps me so much to attend for the moral support is what I enjoy. It helps to know that what I am feeling, or questions that I may need the answer to can be answered or someone will help find the answer. Our meeting is the 4th Monday of each month. I personally live in Belton, so it is possible that there may be a time when you can ride with me.  Good luck with the pregnancy.
