Hi, Everybody: I went to SMMC Friday night and was released today.  I have been having severe back pain for the past month or so.  Turns out I have Gastric Fisual.  It's an ulcer in my pouch which is leaking into the bigger part of my old stomach.  I am heading to Bothwell tomorrow and will be having surgery sometime tomorrow.  Please keep me in your prayers. Bev (CotonMom2) is also heading to Bothwell.  She had RNY on Monday and is still running a temp.  Please keep her in your prayers as well.  I hope to be able to visit with her sometime tonight.  She is very discouraged. I had my rny 3/5/07 and have lost 112 lbs.  I had uclers as a teenager, however, haven't had them since.  Margie told me what happened to me sometimes happens in gastric bypass patients who have had ulcers previously.  I am a little nervous but Margie did tell me it could be done lap.  She said it's major surgery but the rny part is okay.  I will try and post later this week when I get home. Thank you for your prayers for Bev and I both. Love, Debbie D.

Goodness - I'll be praying for both of you!  Debbie:  have you been taking Prevacid or anything since your surgery as an ulcer preventative?  I have been taking it every day since I had my surgery.  Since you've had ulcers before, I would assume you would be taking something - but in reality, ulcers can  happen to any post-op, which is why we should all be taking something to prevent them. Bev:  honey, what's going on with you?  Still battling the UTI, or do they think it's something else?  The flu is going around, so maybe you just caught the flu!  {{{Debbie & Bev}}}

I am so sorry to hear your having so much trouble and the same for Bev, I will keep you both in my prayers and hope everything turns out for you both.  Dr. H is an amazing surgeon, and I know he will do all he can for you.  I live here in Sedalia so if you end up staying awhile let me know I would be glad to run by and see you.  Can't  do anything but I will be more then willing to let you hold my hand.   Marylin
