Protein bars .............

Hey OH Board, I've been trying to find a protein bar that doesn't cost a fortune and doesn't have the high sugar alcohols in it. I tried a bar from Walmart and it had about 12 gr. of sugar alcohols and 4 gr. sugar. I got all wired up basically.Sweaty palms,nervous,dizzy for about an hour or so, so no more of those. I can't seem to find any without the sugar alcohols being high. I love them for the protein and easy carry. I tried some $3.00 bars from GNC and I felt like I was chewing wax !!! Help !!!! Connie 

Connie if you do go to Wal-Mart you go to where the Whey protein section...right near by or underneath you will see Protein Bars...The ones I get are Protein one bars...They have Chococlate, peanut butter chocolate and other kinds...They are low in sugar and great Nutrional Value...They also have EAS Bars those are good too..Sometimes they taste like medicine but they take getting use too....Craig Lee

While at Walmart, you might wanna check out these,  They are called PURE PROTEIN-HIGH PROTEIN BAR. 17 carbs 4g of sugar alcohol, and 20 g of protein. I get the Chocolate Deluxe, they come in a box for about $5 for 6 of them. I think they are like eating a brownie, but suggests that if you try them cut them up into little chunks and freeze them.

I like the Pure Protein chocalate peanut butter they have them at our sams for a good price.I use them for travel purposes mostly.

My personal trainer had us get Detour bars from Wal-Mart.  He said they were the losest calories, sugar and sugar alcohol.   Don't taste too bad either.   Jennifer

Connie, how much protein are you looking for the bar to have? If you're looking for something more like 10 grams than 20 grams, I LOVE Atkins bars. No sugar and no sugar alcohols. Uses Splenda (sucralose).  This one in particular is super-duper-fantastic-yummy.

I did get the atkins bars today and they are great !!!!That's gonna be my choice for now. I'm still trying to find some of the others ,but for now these are good. Connie
