pre-op liquid diet

I am on week 2 of my liquid diet although it has been rough I have lost 11 lbs the first week, however my weight loss has slowed down the past few days? I wonder if it's because I am not getting enough liquids in during the day?  Some days I don't even get in all 5 of my shakes don't know why just don't feel like drinking all of them.  I think I'm bored with only having shakes and some days feel as though if I have to drink one more shake I'm going to be sick!  I am trying to get in more liquids such as water, crystal light, tea things like that which are zero calories.  My surgery is Monday morning which I can't wait for that to be over with.  I think another reason why I might not be drinking all my shakes is because I'm a little nervous about the surgery.  I'm sure everything will be fine I guess it's just the anticipation of it all?   Bev~

Bev hang in there it seems to me like you're doing ok...Remember when you do start losing you lose inches then lbs. then inches then lbs..like that..That is how i lost my weight...The main reason i was told they want people to lose weight or maintain your weight and not gain is because they dont want all the fat up around the liver...When you gain weight it goes to the fatty tissues around your liver and its hard for them to manuver inside during the WLS...Iam soo soo Proud of you..Keep up the good work...Monday is right around the corner....God Bless and Keep you...Craig Lee

Hang in there Angelette.  I will be waiting for that phone call on monday from Diane.  I will be in Independence at the hospital with my husband in the afternoon but I will post on the net about your surgery.  Hang in there with the drinks.  I did not have to do that when I had surgery.  Just had to be on like a Weigh****cher diet for one week and clear lizuids the day before.  God will be with you and keep you safe.  Hope to see you on the 28th.  Colette

Bev, I lost weight the first week and then NOTHING the second week. It'll be the same after surgery too. The first week out of surgery I lost almost 20 lbs and then it slowed down A LOT. I thought I was fully prepared for the stalls, but it did freak me out a little bit. After Monday you wont be on the shakes again for a while. It is a all clear liquid diet though, but you really wont feel like eating so the boredom goes away.
