I am back on a liquid diet again. I thought I was going to die Sunday night. I had pain so bad in my stomach. I called my doctor and he said to take milk of magnesium. He thought that I had to have a BM. Hello I told him that I had gone a few hours ago.  I took that stuff and I started throwing up and dry hiving and could not stop. I was having stomachs spasm and throwing up. I called 911 and took me to the hospital. The tech tried for 20 min trying to get an IV started meanwhile I was puking my guts out. I got some meds that help stop the throwing up the pain was unbearable.

So, I got to the hospital and the idiot doctor asked why I got the RNY. I told because I wanted it. It took for ever to get pain medicine and to see if I had a blockage they gave me an X-Ray. I asked the tech how can they see the blockage with an x-ray. Needless to say I got high on pain meds and was sent on my way. They told me to follow up with my PCP if I got worse. I think that they just wanted me out of there hair and never called my surgeon.

I called the  surgeons office later that morning and they scheduled a CT scan. I got there at two and at 5:30 I left without the results. So, I went to see doctor the next morning and said that there was nothing wrong and released me to go back to work.  Plus I was told start liquid diet again. Every time that I eat some soup I have a sharp pain in my gut at the bottom of where my pouch is. I chew my food to mush. I don’t have any energy to do anything and I don’t want to eat. If I eat anything it tries to come back up. I have no clue of what is going on. Things were going so well. I was eating mechanicals. Sunday I had a little turkey brat and mach pot. salad that my dear angel made me. I think that she is trying to KILL me. Just kidding. But does anyone have any ideas of what is going on? Just the thought of real food turns my stomach.

I will tell you what that pain means to me.  I have either eaten something, too rich, too fatty, too complex, too dry, not cooked enough ie veggies or too much or too fast.  I'm only 4 weeks out and when food causes me to throw up it's for one of those reasons.   I have also experienced the pain you speak of and as soon as it's starts I slow down or stop eating.  Wait to see if it goes away.  If it takes a really long time.  I discontinue what I  am eating till it does.  If it comes on after I have eaten.  I wait a little while and go throw up.  Sometimes as much as 5 or 6 times before it's all out and once it is the pain stops.  I just relax and flex my stomach muscle to make it happen.  Not that I like to throw up but to get rid of that pain I would do almost anything.  Then I think about what I ate and how fast and try to decide what caused it so I try not to do it again.   Only once did I get the pain and couldn't stop it but it was very early on and I don't think my stomach knew it could throw it up. So check out how and what your eating and slow down becarful and maybe you can figure out whats causing.

Peace in all you do,
Bel

Jane if you are still in pain and cant eat anything with out puking go see Dr. Edwards and camp out there if you have to to find out what is wrong.  I will tell you that the braut may have been the initial thing but == i am one of those people that do have a horrible time eating and keeping down dense protein. That is why i do so many shakes and bars because i just cant do dense protein, and i dont have a stricher, or hernia or any other of the reasons . my tummy just doesnt like it. with that being said , im a freak  and doesnt mean that is you. lol some things we think we want or the paper says we can have or someone else can have or someone 2 years out can have doesnt mean that you can. Am i making any sense?  All i meant to say was go see your surgeon and make him do a c.t. scan or something to find out what is going on., I have found too that if you get real sick (dump) on something like it sounds like you did. that it takes a long time for some people to be able to really eat anything again. love and hugs
