I have my initial consult with dr. Hornbostle on the 26th and I am so excited so my question is does anyone know how long after the initial consult (I have 95% of all the tests and everything done) does he usually schedule surgery?  This has been like five years in the making and the more real it becomes the more I can't wait!  Thanks for any info!

I don't know about Dr. H's setup, as I used Dr. Richardson; just wanted to say "hey!" as I'm in Sullivan too!!!      I plan to start a WLS support group for folks in and around the Sullivan, and surrounding areas, after the first of the year - so keep checking the boards for more info on that.    We'd love to have you join us.

That would be great!  We have a hard time finding someone to watch the kids to go all the way to the other one.

I had my first consult with Dr. H on Oct. 17th and my surgery is set for Jan. 21st.  They don't schedule surgery at the time of your consult you have to wait and get insurance approval then once the insurance says ok then Margie will call you to set up all your appts.  Good luck

Hello, Yeah, everyone is scheduled different times.  I had my consult on Nov 7th and my surgery is scheduled Jan 3.  It also does depend on your insurance.  Most insurance companies want to hear that the surgeon accepts you as a patient before they can approve the surgery also. Kelly

HI, My inital consult was in March.  They sent the letter on April 9th and I was approved the same day.  She called me on Monday or Tuesday of the next week and I had surgury six weeks later on May 25th.  They were going to do it in June, but I was going on vacation and they had a cancellation so we were able to move it up.  You do have to have insurance approval before you can get a date, but once it is all in motion, it will go by so fast it will make your head spin.  I waited seven years, so I know what you are feeling.  When I finally got approved, it really didn't really hit me until I was out of surgery and then it was like, YES!! It has happened.   Hope this helps.
