Hello everyone,       I have a question I'm hoping you all can help me with. I'm trying to get it all straight about how to and when to take my vitamins after surgery. Ok, Dr. Hornbostel wants us to take a multivitamin with iron, 500 mg. of calcium citrate with vitamin D twice a day, and a B-100. I have heard some where that you can't take something at the same time as the iron but I don't remember what it was. So please help me figure this out,and tell me when to and what kind of vitamins everyone takes. Thanks for your help.Take Care and God Bless, Tammy V.

You should not take calcium with iron.   Iron should be taken with vitamin C to help with absorption.   If your a new post-op, taking a multi-vitamin with iron, as your only source of iron, may work; but eventually you're probably going to need a separate iron pill; and then you take a separate iron pill with vitamin C to help with absorption.

Thank-you Traci!!,I'll get it all figured out eventually. It's just alot to figure out and learn when you just start out.I know it will all just come naturally once you get going with it everyday. Take Care, Tammy V.
