GOD BLESS YOU TODAY
JAN COOK
Great post Jan! I strongly suggest that every post op get a full lab work-up done every 3 months, if at all possible; but at least every 6 months. Our counts can change quickly and getting them checked often will help you stay on top of counts that are going out of the range they need to be before it becomes a problem; so you can adjust your diet and supplements accordingly. The labs are what dictates what supplements you need and in what amounts.
Below is the full list of labs I have done. Very similar to what Jan posted with the addition of a few things. I came up with this list starting from one I found online and then I asked for additional recommendations from a post-op WLS group I'm on; and they suggested some additions, and my doctor added vitamin C, to come up with this particular list.
Important: I do go in fasting when I have these labs drawn and you need to not take any vitamins or supplements for at least two days prior to having labs drawn, or else it will skew the results.
