I'm here and still kickin'

Just wanted to quickly post and say I'm doing great and thinking of all of you. It's been crazy at work, my wonderful co-worker gave notice and will be leaving next Friday so I'll be even more absent. Don't know when we'll get a replacement for her. I know I'll be fine, I'll just do what I can.
The MRI on my right shoulder showed a torn rotator cuff so I've scheduled surgery to repair it, clean up some calcifications from the end of the clavicle and in the joint and just tune it up in general for 12/28. I will still go to Stacy's for Christmas on the 20th and come home on the 27th. John will come home from his kids on the 27th also and then on Friday, 12/28, I'll have the arthroscopic surgery, in and out, and go back to work on Wednesday, 1/2/08. I'll have to wear a sling for six weeks and do some therapy and Dr McCutie (what is it about these orthopedic guys?) says it will be about 3-6 months to really be healed but better to repair it now than when it is a huge tear and also there's the deductible thing that is met this year!!! I'm not looking forward to surgery but don't think living from one dose of Tylenol to the next is something I want for the rest of my life. With the rheumatoid arthritis I have enough pains that can't be fixed to put up with one that can. I am going to wait until June and then talk to the rheumatologist about biologic drugs or methotrexate (sp). I want to agressively treat my RA this year.
So, dear ones, I may be absent from the board off and on for awhile but know that I love all of you and am thinking and praying for you.
Remember my angelette Connie has surgery coming up really soon.
Great meeting Monday night, Glenna.
Good to see everyone there and Jan's strawberry shakes ROCK. Please PM the recipe to me along with where you get the frui****er.
Hugs,
Lana

Hey Lana, Sorry about the shoulder news, but at least it's something that can be fixed like you say. So I'll be saying a prayer for you on that day and I know you'll sail through it. We'll miss hearing you on the board until you get a replacement at work.I know you'll pop in when you can. Have a great day and God Bless you.... Connie

Hi Lovely Lana, My DH had that surgery a couple of years back-on our anniversary, no less-LOL, thats how I remember WHEN!! His rotator cuff was in half-from the accident he was in. I will tell you that it didnt take but 3-4 days and he noticed the difference already!! The worst part of it was the sling. He HATED wearing it and all the restrictions it puts on you-and it was his left arm and he is a leftie-so it really bugged him! You KNOW I will have you in my prayers, as I do everyday!! I think of you all the time. I miss you and I love you!! I WILL see you next month for sure.  Love, Janet

Ouch Lana!  Sorry about the rotator cuff and the need for surgery; but at least they can fix it.  Take care of yourself.
