Dear Bel, I drank ON, known as Optimum Nutrition 100% Instantized Whey Gold Standard protein shakes. Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla all ROCK! Up to 5 per day. I rarely got in all 5, just wasnt hungry. I did chew a ton of sunflower seeds when I needed that chewing affect. Believe it or not-what helped me the most was telling myself a few things: Keep your eyes on the prize (per Jan C-LOL) If HE brought you to it-HE will get you through it Nothing will taste so good that its worth your surgery! My favorite was home-made chicken broth, made from boullion cubes-that way I could make up a big batch and just microwave a cup at a time. I also drank the generic (walmart brand) of crystal light-orange flavor. Its sugar free and then sf popsicles and jello. I hope this helps Bel-and IF you NEED ANYTHING-let me know-I am here for you.  Do you have an angel yet?  All my love and prayers-we are polishing your seat on the bench by us! Good luck. Love, Janet

SF popscicles and sf fudgecicles saved me. I was on whatever diet stuff they gave me at the doctors...couldnt tell you what. but it was sweet...tasting...so my can of beef broth and chicken broth a day were enjoyed so very much!  the broth from ramen noodles is good also! sooo excited for you! you do realise it was just a short time ago that we joined this board and met...we were both unhappy with ourselves and now I am on the road back to my life and you will be there sooo very soon! I also used several mantras to get through the day... Jans....keep your eye on the prize! and....food is NOT your friend...food lies to you....food cannot and will not make you happy....only you can do that I will be healthier...each day I am not letting my addiction get the better of me I am stronger than my "want" of food. I tried not to worry about any day but the day I was doing....ONE at a time.... I found day 3 the WORST. the headache and the want was really bad. but I got through it and I KNOW you can tooo! I really think the headache most complain of is the detox of our body for sugar.....there is ALOT of sugar in our food.... once you get there you will know what I mean! I will be praying for you and sending positive thoughts all geared towrds your ultimate success! .....today I am wearing one of my shirts from yrs ago...like 6....its so amazing the journey you have begun! Hi Bel, My motto is  "NOTHING TASTE AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS" And believe me I know. I have lost 121 pounds  this past year and I am still about 25 pounds from  my goal. I went from a size 28/30 womens  to  a size 14 misses!

It is still very hard for me to wrap my thinking  around it sometimes especially when someone calls me "LITTLE or SKINNY" I still see with a fat girls eyes. But all the struggles and loss of food is still so worth it!!!  Good Luck to you.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right..
Forget about the one's who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.

If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy,

they just promised it would be worth it.

Just a FYI.......Not drinking enough water can give you terrible headaches.  Your brain hurts because there is not enough..........cerebral spinal fluid.........from dehydration believe it or not!

There is some tremendous chicken broth in a can.  I use it for cooking and really like it better than the boullion cubes.  Boullion cubes and very high in sodium and will cause water retention.  I actually crunched alot of ice with crystal light on it.  I needed a crunch too, but I do love cream cheese on celery and really you can eat a ton of celery.  Drinking the water then and now is a drag because I am not hot..........Crystal light was the best ever to help.  Pre-op is so much easier to drink that post op.  You can barely drink a mouthfull post op and swallow.  Good luck and please let me know how things are going...
