New to the Board

Hi all,

My name is Paula, mother of two and I have a surgery date of 12/05/2007.  I came here looking for friends and support as I don't have much at home.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Paula you will get lots of friends and support here. Where do you live in Missouri? do you go to a good support group? You will find that you will need lots of support from everywhere and sometimes we get more from people that have been thru the situation. Love and hugs. Jan

Hi Jan, Thanks so much for your kind words.  I live in St. Louis, Mo.  I'm having my surgery at DePaul Medical Center by Dr. Roger de la Torre.  I'm getting nervous, I guess mainly about the pain and recovery.  I plan on attending the support group offered at the hospital.  Thanks again for your repsonse. Hey Paula: Welcome! If you ever have questions don't hesitate to come here, someone will be there for you. Everything you are feeling is normal. Just look to the lord and he will give you strength. You are on your way to a new and wonderful life. I am nearly 5 years out and it has been the best thing I have given myself. You are not alone!

Hi Paula, Welcome to the board. I have my surgery 1 week after you. Same hospital same doc.I pray all goes well for you and you have a fast and easy recovery. As they say here...after the surgery walk, walk, walk. Take care, Connie
