Surgery Cost????

I don't know the exact cost - as my insurance covered 100% of my surgery; but in the $40,0000 - 60,000 range is normal. If you will be paying for your surgery cash - then they usually give you a break on costs, so it's cheaper than what they would bill the insurance.

I've seen cash prices quoted as low as $26,000 but that was over a year ago in Springfield. Don't know now or in other areas.

I'm 8 weeks out. Dr. Follwell performed mine at St. Alexis. I paid almost 24,000 out of pocket. 7,000 to the Dr. 15,000 to the hospital, the remainder went to the anesthesia, lab, and radiology expenses. I have been pleased with my surgeon and the hospital. St. Alexia (the new hospital) was wonderful. The care, personalism, and professionalism were great and just like what you'd expect of a small community hospital. Hope this helps. Michelle
