Insurance Question

I have a medicare replacement policy called Humana Choice and I just had my first appt. with Dr. H last week.  I was wondering how much time should I allow the insurance company to process the paperwork and approve my surgery?  I want to stay on top of things cause I want to have my surgery by the end of this year if at all possible and the only thing standing in the way of getting a date is the approval from Humana.  Any suggestions on how long this may take or how long I should allow them before I start calling daily?   Bev~

Bev,    i cant answer for Humanna.  But I had straight Medicaire and had a supplemental private insurance which we carried.  They suabmitted my application one week and I was approved in one week.  I was shocked it happened so quick.  Colette
