Hello to all, I am sending in my packet by the end of this week to Healthcare USA.  Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to come back with a decision on whether they approved or denied? I have my consult date with Dr. Hornbostel on Nov7.  I am trying to be pre-approved before that appoint.  I am a full time college student.  I am trying to have my surgery done in December before the winter semester starts in January. Thanks, Kelly

It does depend on the Insurance company.  Mine took less then 24 hours but I had done there pre cert program for three months.  I would suggest that as soon as you know they have recieved your paperwork to start calling.  Remember be nice!  Get someones name you can call back too.  Try every few days.

Good luck!

Peace in all you do,
Bel

I did absolutely all my testing before sending it in and was approved in one week exactly.  It was all the testing and appointments that took the most time.  Then again, i think i was very lucky.

Kelly, I too am seeing Dr. H for the first time tomorrow and I am hoping to have surgery before the end of the year?  I am off for two weeks during Christmas break (I work at a university) so I was wanting to have the surgery while I am off I will ask them tomorrow what the chances of that happening is?  I don't know how long it will take for insurance approval I have Humana Choice PPO which is a medicare replacement policy so I didn't have to pre-cert all I know is after my appt. tomorrow they will submit it to the insurance for approval I was told it could take a week or two it's all up to the insurance company and we as policy holders to stay on top of them so it's not sitting on someone's desk for weeks!  Hang in there and good luck to you! Bev~
