Just wanted to say "Hi"
Hi there, My name is Mike. I had RNY last week at DePaul in Bridgeton, MO performed by Dr. J. Stephen Scott. Everything went perfect and I have bounced back so fast. I'll be going back to work on Monday(I am a high school teacher). I started researching WLS many years ago and after submitting everything in Febuary, I finally got the approval from my Insurance in August and had the surgery on October 5th.
My first appointment with Dr. Scott was in mid-August. I was 420 pounds then I went on a protein shakes and 1 meal a day diet until two weeks prior, then with two weeks to go I went straight clear liquids. I am a stickler for following the rules, never cheated on the diet, not once. I went to the gym everyday and worked out, I did that anyway before planning surgery, always have. So when I stepped on the scale the day of surgery I was 380. So I lost 40 pounds in seven weeks pre-op. I went Wednesday for my 1st post-op and Dr. Scott removed my drain and my staples and I weighed 375. So things are going good, now that I will be back to work and can get back in the gym I only expect good things from the surgery. Just wanted to introduce myself and say "Hi" later, Mike P.S. I am from Southern Illinois I drove 125 miles to have Dr. Scott do my surgery.

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I have been reading this message board for awhile, lots of good information here.
On that note I have a question... I have been sore, I expected that I am one week out of the operating room. But under my naval I have this pain like a pulling, pinching, almost a tearing sensation when I get up and when I set down. Is this normal? It's starting to freak me out. There are not any incision sites there so the area appears normal to the naked eye. I know when Dr. Scott took my drain out it felt like it was attached inside me down in this area so I don't know. Should I be concerned? I sneezed tonight and let the curse words fly because it hurt there. But it normaly doesn't hurt unless I sneeze, during standing up or setting down motion. Once I am standing or setting I am fine.
Thanks,
Mike P.S. By the way, I had RNY laproscopically if that helps.
