Met Dr De La Torre for last surgeons appointment today !!!!

Now it is sinking in :)  WOO HOO I met with Dr D and although he didn't talk much he put me at ease more, he just has a confidence about him.  He will be doing my surgery with Dr Scott as usual on the 23rd.  I had all pre op tests done, met with the anesthesiologist and registered for surgery so I am SET TO GO...   Day 5 of liquid is much easier and oh yea, when i weighed today, i had lost the 3 I gained and 10 more???  YEAH!!  So i got to update my ticker.  Can you tell I'm happy?  I just want this to be over and be on the losers bench.  Move over guys, here i come ...

Congrats! We have the same surgeon. I am having the Lap Band done on October 31st.

HI, thanks for your reply did Dr De La Torre talk much with you?  I only got to meet his this one time and he seemed really nice but he was in a hurry, probably had a surgery or something..   I just wish he had spent more time with me. cindy

Good Luck I had Dr.Scott and you have to remeber they are surgeons and I have found typically they are not the warm fuzzy types I assume you are in the Columbia clinic.The support staff is very nice and supportive the nutritioninst, nurse or psych are the ones who run the support groups and if you call them they are very helpful.Take care I will be thinking of you.

My meeting was pretty brief. He anwsered my questions. I was in the Pre-op class of 12 people.  I am going through DePaul Hospital.

I had Dr. Scott as my surgeon in 2000. I am having an endoscopy done this friday 10-19 at the  DePaul Hospital to have my stomache checked for any problems. They are both great surgeons and I have three other friends that have had their surgeries with them. Good luck ladies on your upcoming surgeries. Catana West Farmington,MO
