WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY

Started getting soil ready for the lilly bulbs and had to stop and run to town for more bug spray. When pulling all the old flowers and weeds the mosquitoes are so thick down in there that I was getting eaten alive. Anyway got back home from town and got all the old flowers and dead stuff pulled up and started digging the ground up . Planted about 80 bulbs in this one side it should be beautiful next year. I guess the rest of the bulbs will go in another bed somewhere. Will have to get some areas ready I guess.

Was a beautiful day today wasn’t it? I think I got a little sun today which is good. Will help keep the skin from looking so creepy. Lol you know white and wrinkled and wobbly.lol

Need to move some flowers around tomorrow. One is some Peonies that I have that never do bloom I need to get them into a little more sun I do believe and they may be buried too deep too. Will just have to dig them up to see I guess.

Later this fall we have some small trees that we are going to have to move. One is a golden rain tree and I am so afraid to move it but it is going to have to be moved so it will have more room to grow.

JONADA1: Yes mainly I just do flowers. I plant tomatoes every year and sometimes a few other things but not a lot of garden really. I planted some climbing greenbeans this past year on a trellis and it was beautiful and gave us several meals of fresh green beans.

I have 3 green pepper plants in amist my flowers that give me way more green peppers than we want or need. I have cleaned and bagged enough of them to last probably 3 years lol then a friend of mine gave me some ornamental pepper seeds and I planted them and we had a big rain and I thought washed them all away but there are two of the prettiest plants in my flowers.

We are buying the land that is just behind us that one of the lots is perfectly clear of trees and shrubs only grass and we have been thinking of maybe growing a vegetable garden there next year, if we did we would need a lot bigger freezer than what we have . or I guess we could take it to farmers market and sell it lol.

I have had veggie gardens many times before and the growing of them is not much different than growing flowers , just a matter of keeping the weeds out and the ground watered if it is dry and harvesting when things need to be harvested.

TRACI: I totally agree with you about carnation instant breakfast there are lots of things out there on the market that have a good name but they aren’t necessarily good for us wls patients. Such as South beach protein bars. The protein in them is so small and the carbs are large. There are lots better one. One that you can buy at Wal mart is   Met-RX they are good , high in protein, low in carbs and a good variety. I order some on line that I like that are called  Fresh energy Bakery.  From  www.freshenergybakery.com

They have 42 grams of protein and most of them have only 10 or less of carbs with only small amounts of sugar in them. So there are things out that that are high in protein and well worth the money you spend and worth the time and energy to eat. Do they taste like the very best thing you have ever eaten in your life? NO but I make my self eat this stuff for the protein. I can eat such a tiny bit of food than I can not for the life of me get enough protein in  for a day. I have to use protein shakes and bars to get it done.

I feel good as long as I get in at least 90 to 120 grams of protein a day but I go much lower and im weak, shakey and feel just plain tired.

NUTTI:  congratulations on all the sales on ebay. That is awesome. Hey if you get to come to COF meeting on the 22nd could you bring some of your work with you? I know we would all love to see it.

Im sure the protein shake you make in your blender is probably better for you than the CIB so just stick with that.

That might be a good idea about work. Wont be long before you are wanting to get out and go to work somewhere anyway.

MELISSA: you sound like your having a great time being a mother to the baby. I hope it works out that you all could get to keep him forever. You sound so happy and content with having him in the house with you.

5 months is a precious time with the little ones. So many new things going on.

BOBBY JO: lol you don’t sound like you are very thrilled with math .  Sounds like you really got some good bargains with the books.

Hopefully you will have your computer back from the puter hospital soon.

Im going to get in bed, being bent over all day long has played havoc on my knees and they are screaming. Cant wait to see the ortho surgeon on the 15th.

I think I am ready to have them replaced so I can get over this horrible knee pain.

Hello Missouri, Beautiful weekend everyone.  I agree with Jan about the Fresh Energy Bakery Bars.  I like the ones that are yogurt covered instead of chocolate - I'm not a big chocolate person.  I kind of overdosed on the bars for awhile and then I found the bullets and that's what I use but some hate them - you just never know.   Had a huge WOW moment Thursday.  Went to Dillards to buy a perma-pressed white shirt.  I tried one on, size 10, and couldn't decide if it was big enough.  It didn't gap or pull but a 10???  So about that time the saleslady came by the dressing room so I stepped out and asked her if she though it was the right size.  She said, "Well you could use a size smaller, but I'd call this one a relaxed fit."  I about fainted.  I'd thought it might be too small and she thought it might be too big.  WOW!!! I bought it, "relaxed fit" describes me pretty well.   We decided to go to Silver Dollar City yesterday.  Went to the gym, had breakfast, got cleaned up and drove down there.  The parking lots were packed so we just drove on past, turned around and went to the outlets for a little while and came home.  I'm to old and cranky to fight a huge crowd!!! Jan, I got my every-blooming lilac from Park Seed shipped this week and planted it this afternoon.  They said on the insert that this was the best time.  Now, if the nursery will just come and plant my new tree I'll be happy.   I'm so excited for all the new folks on the board and for all those getting approvals and dates.  It is a wonderful tool for us to use to regain a healthy life.   I had an exploratory appointment with a plastic surgeon this week - checking prices on arms.  The quote was $5600 - way too much for me right now.  I will just learn to love my flab.  If I wanted to spend that much it would have to be on the tummy - or maybe Mexico???  Who knows. Hugs and love to all of you. Lana
