Not happy

I won't be joining the loser's bench any time soon. Even though my screwed up back is considered a co-morbidity factor by federal guidelines, Aetna doesn't consider it one, so my BMI would have to be over 40 before they'd cover the surgery. It had been 41, but I'd been working on losing weight to prepare for the surgery, but since I lost it on my own and not on a doctor supervised diet, they say it doesn't count. &^%#$&^%*(&()!!!!!

NOT HAPPY! KJL

So sorry, but if you're like most of us you'll balloon back up after awhile and then let Aetna have it. Things like that are just the pits.  I'll pray for you. Hugs, Lana

OMG....What the insurance companies don't think of to screw people around!!!! Lanas right....just stop working on loosing weight and let the BMI climb back up a bit....then go at it again!!  Are you doing well enough on your own to do it by dieting? Do you have much to loose?  Hope it all works out for you sweetie.... Hugs..Tammy~ammy

I don't want it to go back up, it was too hard to lose it. I've been stuck between 225 & 230 for the last 2 months and it doesn't seem to want to go any lower.  I'm afraid it will do like it always has in the past and start creeping up again.  While that would then qualify me for the surgery, it's a high price to pay because by the time I hit 250 my back and right leg will be screaming and I'll be having trouble sleeping (always felt like I was choking when I lie down). Ideally I need to get to 120, so I've got a long way to go. KJL
