The Achievers Support Group is meeting at Uthoff Valley Elem. School in Fenton, MO.  You can go to www.orgsites.com/mo/WLSachievers  for more information. We meet the first Monday of the month.  Tomorrow night, Oct. 1 at 7 pm. We do not have child care at this time.  This is an educational  support group. Gayle is a OH support leader and Amanda is working to be one also.  This week we will be sampleing some of the items on the market for WLS patients. We will also be talking about goals and ways to be an achiever.  New and great stuff coming your way! Can't wait to meet you.   Gayle

The link didn't work for me - I would love to check out your web site. That's awesome that there's another support group in the westward direction!!  I may try to make one of your meetings, even if it is still an hour from me, it's the closest one to me at this time. I tried to start a WLS support group in the Wildwood, Missouri area shortly after my surgery, but there wasn't a ton of interest, no one else to help me run it and my life got so crazy busy that I had to let it go.  Since then I've moved to Sullivan and my own PCP has suggested I start a support group and he would be the supervising physician!!  How cool is that?!!     As soon as I determine what is going on my with my current health issues and get that under control, I will consider starting a WLS support group here in the Crawford/Franklin County area.  We desperately need a support group out here.  There is NOTHING!

You may have checked the link before I corrected it.    Please try again.  www.orgsites.com/mo/wlsachiers  I would have loved to started this one at Villa Ridge Baptist Church where  I go to church,  But my co-leader, Amanda is from Maryland Heights so we decided on Fenton.  We had a lady from Steelville at our first meeting.  I think that your area really could use a group. I know several from Franklin county, including myself.  Best of luck.  Be sure to let me know so we can pass your information around.  We are just getting started but would love to have you come and tell us how things are now that you are a few years out. God bless, Gayle

No Gayle, it's still not working for me.    I would love to come and share at your group and encourage everyone.  You meet the first Monday of every month?   If so, I'll mark next month's meeting on my calendar and try to make that.  I know that our group, once we get it going, would be open to all surgery types, as well as pre and post-ops.  :)

Yes, the first Monday of the month at 7 PM.    I see the problem with the link.  It is www.orgsites.com/mo/wlsachievers     Sorry about that.

Is the support group only for people who've had RNY, or do you have some Bandsters as well? I've been looking for a group to join, so this sounds like a great opportunity.

Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it!

We welcome family, any WLS patient, pre or post surgery.  We would love to have you next month. All supports have a different feel. We break the groups time into education, personal shareing, goals, success and exercize. We work hard to have samples and coupons for everyone.  We have our own t-shirt and  an Achievers chant.  Next month we will be getting magnets and samples. In Dec. a Nut. will visit and in Jan. a personal trainer will be here to share.  It is our desire to be one of the best support groups in the St. Louis area.  We hope to see you in November at Uthoff Valley Elem. School! Gayle and Amanda     www.orgsites.com/mo/wlsachievers

I am also a St. Louis county resident that has been looking for a group. That sounds like a great plan. I may be there.
