acl repair ?
I am going to see the orth surgeon next week (10/4) for Pain in my knee. The MRI said that I had meniscal degeneration with partial loss of meniscal cartilage.(posterior horn) And , Old contusion/sprain with abnormal signal involving cranial intercondylar femoral attachment of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). My question is, Is this going to get in the way of wls (not scheduled yet still waiting for approval). you know, long recovery , short recovery ? There are a lot of nurses here (on OH) I don't want any thing to screw this up (wls) I also have a lot of other health issues (hip replacement, back surg) to be done after significant weight loss . Thank you in advanced .
Chip,
Sounds as if you have some significant surgeries upcoming. I'd check with the bariatric surgeon and be sure nothing will stand in your way - it probably is the most important surgery you can have and makes all the others easier. You will always need to remember to push protein because it is vital for all healing.
Hugs,
Lana
Hi Chip, I like you have knee and back problems. I had WLS first and now after almost 6 months my knees hardly ever bother me. My ortho said go for the WLS cause it will be easier on the ortho problems in the long run. I was going to have to have surgery but now it looks like I am not!!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!Either way the WLS will be crucial in your improvement of your health. (also this is from a nurses stand point of view too
) I wish you the best on getting your approval and surgery date. Julia
