~All Reunion Info-Please read-Last Post about it~
Hi everyone.....We are 6 days away from the 1st annual MO board reunion. We have had a lot of questions the past couple of days-so this is all the info you will need. If you have any questions about the reunion-please either post them here OR email me. Thanks! When and where is the reunion? The reunion is in West Branson-at a resort called Green Valley resort on September 8th. We are going to be starting the potluck as close to 11 am as possible. How much does it cost? The cost will be dependent on if you come for just the day OR if you will be staying the weekend or longer. If you rent a cabin, you will be responsible for that cost and making reservations yourself. If you are coming for the day-the cost is $5.00 for the day-PER PERSON. You will have to register in the office as a visitor and pay them then. What is there to do at the resort? Whether you are renting cabins or coming for the day-you have access to the same ammenities-there is a solar heated pool, a spa/hot tub, badmitton/volleyball, playground for the kids, horesehoes, shuffle board and water activities. What are we doing as activities for the reunion? We are doing a potluck luncheon, we are playing a Guess Who game?, we are doing a white elephant exchange, water balloon toss and then for the kids or teens-we are having a water balloon toss, pinata and they are playing their own white elephant gift exchange. When it gets dark, we will be gathering around the firepit to talk and roast marshmellows.
What do I need to bring? Whether your renting a cabin OR just coming for the day, you will need to bring a dish to share with everyone for the potluck luncheon. There are a lot of people attending who have not had the surgery yet-so you dont have to be limited on the type of dish you bring-our loved ones will appreciate that! LOL... You need to bring your own meat and accesories for grilling. You also will need to bring chairs-as seating is limited-those of us renting cabins will have our own picnic tables, but we will also use up all that space-so bring seating for you and your loved ones. You will want to bring your own eating utensils as well. Depending on the weather, you may want to bring sunscreen/bug spray and a light jacket. You will need to bring a wrapped gift, as close to $5 as possible, if you want to play the white elephant game. IF your loved ones want to play-they need to each bring a gift as well-sorry, but no wrapped gift-No Play-LOL.... We are going to have a raffle, and all the games come with prizes-we are in hopes of each child/teen getting a prize for those who attend. What is the white elephant gift exchange? Each person who brings a wrapped gift (as close as possible to $5 for the adults and just a couple of bucks for the kids) We put them on a table-and depending on how many people are playing, we draw a number-whoever gets #1, of course, goes first. Whoever gets #2 can either take #1s gift or take a new one from the table. As you go around-IF someone takes your gift from you-its your turn next-you cannot take your gift back from the person who just took it from you-ON that turn. You can only have your gift taken from you 3x. If someone else takes one of your gifts-and you want back your original gift-you can re-take it, as long as one turn has evolved since then. I know-it sounds confusing, but its fun. When the last person has gone-#1 gets to go again-since they didnt have the option to take from anyone when the game started. The teens are playing seperately from the adults.
The Guess Who game is just a worksheet type game-where you match the person with the little known fact about them. Its a lot of fun-this is for those of us who belong to the OH board. Not for the kids. Sorry. But-there is plenty of stuff for the kids to do. If you will need your dish plugged in OR refridgerated, there are enough of us renting cabins, that I am sure someone can accomodate you. This is the LAST post about the reunion. Please post IF you have ANY questions or concerns. Thanks. You can look up directions and info on the resort at
www.greenvalleyresort.com They have directions from Springfield. If you can make it to Springfield, they can get you to the resort without a problem. IF you google the address-PLEASE notate that it is NOT Reeds Springs. Its been brought to our attention that they have associated Reeds Springs with the zip code for the resort-and IF you go to Reeds Springs-you will be going the opposite direction you need to be going! So-IF you can, just look it up through the resort from Springfield. Ok? Well, I hope to see you ALL there-its going to be sooo much fun. Love, Janet
